Women in Theatre Survey Update

Women in Theatre Survey Update

We’re proud The Women in Theatre Survey Update was published to coincide with the launch of the Women in Theatre Lab to mark the Lab as a major new development to support women in UK theatre. This research builds on co-Director of the Women in Theatre Lab and Cambridge University trained researcher Jennifer Tuckett’s previous research with The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain, Equity, ERA 50: 50, Stage Directors UK, Sphinx Theatre, Black Womxn in Theatre and University of Women in the Arts as part of the 5 year Women in Theatre research project. This update, which was supported by The Writers’ Guild, Equity, ERA 50:50, Sphinx, Black Womxn in Theatre, WOW and University Women in the Arts amongst others, finds that, post-pandemic, almost none of the support for women in theatre promised during the pandemic has materialised and that gender inequality is in danger of increasing in theatre if actions are not taken. The Women in Theatre Lab is proud to be joining the project as a partner alongside The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain, Equity, ERA 50: 50, Parents and Carers in Performing Arts, WOW, Black Womxn in Theatre, Stage Directors UK, Sphinx, and University Women in the Arts.
